Annual Holiday Hand Up gives families a much needed financial boost
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Several families in need got a boost just in time for the holiday season.
Lend a Hand Up held its third annual Holiday Hand Up event at the Avalon this evening.
Among the supporters and volunteers were 42 separate families struggling with medical expenses, looking for a bit of assistance.
After a bit of socializing, complete with food and drink, the program began, which highlighted some of the families’ stories and the donors who made the night possible.
Lend a Hand Up says that their ability to give feels particularly impactful around the holiday season.
“Tonight’s event, the Holiday Hand up event, brings the true meaning of Christmas. It’s about coming together, celebrating each other, faith, family, kindness, love of neighbor. And so, being able to share the generosity that the community provided this holiday season, with all of those families, immediately, in time for the holiday – it really brings a meaning of Christmas. It feels good to help others.” said Jeana Peinovich, director of Lend a Hand Up.
And the big reveal of the event….those 42 families received $1,500 each.
