Pint-Sized Explorers Take on Red River Zoo

The holidays are a time to indulge and that includes some furry friends at the Red River Zoo.

Kids got the chance to join zoo keepers feeding some tasty treats to the porcupines.

Kids also handled deer antlers and learned about some specialty zoo items.

It’s all part of Pint-Sized Explorers, a program dedicated to getting kids acclimated nature.

“Pretty much whenever you talk to someone that gets excited about nature and excited about animal a lot of time that love started when they were really small so were really hoping that kids when they come here to the zoo they can get excited about animals and nature,” says Red River Zoo Education Director, Erica Prokrym.

The fee is $15 and $10 for zoo members.

The program runs once a month.
