Former Ashby Teacher Sentenced

A former Ashby, Minnesota teacer has been sentenced to three years in prison for having a sexual relationship with a student in Willmar.

35-year-old Chad Akerson reached a plea deal with prosecutors in Kandiyohi County.

A 20-year-old woman told police that she had a relationship with Akerson that began when she was 15.

He was teaching in Ashby when he was arrested in last December.

Akerson will be required to register as sex offender.
