Hoeven, Cramer recommend Fargo judge be nominated U.S. attorney

WASHINGTON (KVRR) – Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer are recommending that President Donald Trump nominate East Central District Court Judge Nick Chase to serve as U.S. Attorney for North Dakota.

Mac Schneider currently serves in the position. Schneider was appointed by former President Biden in 2022, and said recently he expects to be replaced by a Republican after Trump takes office.

Before he was a judge, Chase was a federal prosecutor and also served as acting U.S. Attorney.

The senators say Chase has dedicated his career to serving North Dakota, particularly addressing crime in Indian Country and drug crimes.
