Belcourt, North Dakota man sentenced to life in prison

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A Belcourt, North Dakota man is sentenced to life in prison.

Justin Baker, 44,  is handed down the sentence along with $400 in special assessment fees.

Baker is accused of two counts of sexual abuse by threat or death or serious bodily injury and two counts of assault by strangulation.

Law enforcement responded to a home in Belcourt in 2020 for a woman who was severely beaten by Baker.

Another woman interviewed in August of 2023 says she was also physically and sexually assaulted by Baker.

Both women say they believed he was going to kill them.

This case was investigated by the FBI.
