MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — The search for Moorhead’s next police chief is over.

A conditional offer has been extended to Fargo Police Capt. Chris Helmick.

He has served in law enforcement since 2001.

Helmick graduated from MSUM and the FBI National Academy.

He was one of four finalists announced last week to replace retiring Police Chief Shannon Monroe.

Helmick’s employment will be brought to the city council for approval on March 10th.

Monroe is retiring after thirty years of service to Moorhead.
