“The Lead Dog”: When it Comes to Drones, North Dakota Has it All

When it comes to drones, North Dakota leads the way for drone businesses and enthusiasts.

Senator John Hoeven stopped in Fargo to talk with local drone entrepreneurs.

It’s a future that’s still unclear but one thing’s for sure.

“We got it all so if you want to be part of the future of unmanned aviation you want to be here,” says Senator John Hoeven.

“UAVs are going to change our world similar to smart phones and the internet. We’re not sure where it’s going to take us yet,” says UAI Founder, Tommy Kenville.

From inspecting agriculture crops to infrastructure to oil pipelines.

“I like the tagline if it’s dark dirty or dangerous. Use a drone instead of putting a human at risk,” says Kenville.

And North Dakota is paving the way.

“We are absolutely the lead dog here in this race without a doubt. Nobody has what we have,” says Senator Hoeven.

Senator Hoeven compares the drone industry now to the beginning of the oil boom, and it’s not just a win for the state but for the entire country.

“Everyone is on the same team here to get this industry to North Dakota,” says Kenville.

And growth in unmanned aviation means growth in jobs.

“Growing our economy, creating the jobs of the future, then young people will want to live here, come here and raise their families here and that’s what it’s all about,” says Senator Hoeven.

An industry getting attention from the rest of the country. So move over oil, the tech boom is underway.
