Mexican National Sentenced in Fargo After Entering U.S. Illegally Again

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A Mexican national with multiple convictions for entering the U.S. illegally has been sentenced in Fargo for reentering the country illegally again.

35-year-old Nicolas Fierro-Borunda was stopped by a North Dakota trooper in rural McKenzie County in December.

The trooper contacted Border Patrol after Borunda admitted he was in the U.S. illegally.

He was sentenced to 15 months in prison and will be deported after his sentence.

Borunda was arrested in Texas in 2018 for smuggling over 60 pounds of marijuana into the county.

He has been deported from the U.S. twice.
