Details on Downtown Fargo Ice Rink
Fargo City Commissioners are hearing more details about the ice rink coming to downtown Fargo.
Crews will start setting up the rink in a few weeks.
Commissioners approved the structure last month.
The 80 foot by 80 foot temporary rink will take up part of a city owned parking lot at the corner of Main and Broadway.
The goal is to have it open from December to February.
But the temperature needs to start dropping first before the doors can open.
The $20,000 rink is being funded through private donations.
“The fundraising has gone well. They were hoping to get in the next two weeks to try and work on that warming house,” says Planning Director Jim Gilmour.
The warming house will be used for Park District staff to monitor the rink.
Skate rentals will not be available but the rink will be free.
