FBI investigating death in northeast South Dakota

SISSETON, S.D. (KVRR-KWAT) – The FBI regional office in Minneapolis is the lead investigative agency in a fatal incident that occurred Tuesday in Roberts County in northeastern South Dakota.
Law enforcement sources say one of the persons involved in the incident is “affiliated” with the South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Department, but the person is not a conservation officer.
The Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribe confirms there is an ongoing investigation involving the death of what they say is a, “tribal member and a non-tribal member,” but would not comment further.
Governor Larry Rhoden’s office also confirmed they are aware of a death investigation in Roberts County, but they too would not elaborate on the circumstances.
