1 in Custody Charged with Sex Crimes Against a Minor

FARGO — West Fargo police are investigating a Fargo man for what they say are sex crimes against a minor as well as drug crimes.
Police officials say they got a report Wednesday that Aaron Lowell Cofell, 26, of West Fargo, sexually assaulted a minor and had sexually abused the child on more than one occasion.
They say detectives found Cofell and stopped his vehicle the following day, and during the traffic stop, the K9 officer found methamphetamine and meth paraphernalia in his vehicle.
They arrested him on suspicion of felony gross sexual imposition, possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators say they worked with Sanford and the Red River Children’s Advocacy Center to provide care for the child, who is less than 15 years old.
West Fargo police are calling it an ongoing investigation.
