Hawley Softball Punches Ticket to State; Receives 6-seed

THE HAWLEY NUGGETS DEFEATED ROSEAU FRIDAY, MAY 30, TO PUNCH THEIR TICKET TO STATE

HAWLEY, MN (KVRR) – The Hawley Nuggets softball team is celebrating the accomplishment of making the MSHSL State Tournament. The MSHSL released the brackets over the weekend, and Hawley is a 6-seed. #6 Hawley (24-2) will play #3 Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial (23-2) on Tuesday, June 3, at 3 P.M. The game takes place at Caswell Park in North Mankato, Minnesota.

On Friday, May 30, the Nuggets battled Roseau in the Section 8AA Championship game. Hawley lost to Roseau earlier in the tournament, but in the double elimination format, rallied to reach the Championship game. Thursday, May 29, the Nuggets defeated the Rams 7-6 to force a game two. In the second game, Hawley rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the 6th inning to win 5-3. It is the first State Tournament appearance for the program since 2021.
