The Arthur Market offers rural producers chance in spotlight
ARTHUR, N.D. (KVRR) – As the dog days of summer roll on, farmers markets around the region are kicking into gear to connect you with local producers.
The Arthur Market in rural Arthur North Dakota will be kicking off their fifth year with a big celebration this weekend, with a waterslide, a kangaroo, musicians, and of course dozens of local vendors to check out.
They say that running a farmers market in a rural area can be important for local vendors who may not have the money or time to travel to bigger markets.
“There’s barriers, monetary barriers to enter bigger markets. Sometimes there’s time barriers too. But then to give them a local venue to bring people in not just from Arthur, Hunter, those local communities, but also from the entire valley, the entire region, it’s been really enriching to see them prosper.”
The Arthur Market will kickoff on Saturday at 10 AM, you can find more info here.
