Watch: Paraglider rescued from Red River

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A paraglider had to be rescued Tuesday after crashing into the Red River.

Video from Dusty Howlett shows the crash as the paraglider strikes a powerline before plumeting into the river.

Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched just before 9 P.M. to the area of the Riverside Dam boat ramp.

Crews arrived to find the paraglider in the river and the operator to be uninjured.

A rescue boat was launched, and crews were able to untangle the operator and assist him to shore.
