WEEK 2: 16 Plays Battle for the Title: Chris Heise Play of the Year
EACH WEEK FOUR PLAYS WILL BATTLE FOR ONE SPOT IN THE FINALS.
FARGO (KVRR) –Let the games continue!
Each Friday in July we will present four plays to battle for one spot in the “Final Four” of the Chris Heise Play of the Year. The Final four will take place Friday, August 1 with a winner announced the following Monday/Friday.
JULY 11 NOMINEES:
Play 1: From January. Shanley 7th grader Jaya Taylor gets down hill and gets the tough bucket to fall through the contact. Taylor was making great plays all season long and in this one she showcases her great finishing ability.
Play 2: From March. Minnesota boys hockey Class A State Championship. Tied at one in overtime, Jace Van Eps becomes a hero for life in East Grand Forks. The senior finds the back of the net from an insane angle to win the Title for the Green Wave. The goal won EGF its third State Title in program history.
Play 3: From January. With seconds left on the clock, down by 2, DGF sophomore Quincy Cox calls game with a shooters touch bounce to help the Rebels defeat Staples-Motley 53 to 52. Cox found some space to get the shot off and then the bounce goes his way as the Rebels celebrate.
Play 4: From February. Moorhead Spuds girls hockey. Kendall Lund passes the puck off the boards right to the stick of the streaking Anna Bjorkman…and quite the finish from the sophomore to light the lamp.
