Drowning Sign

NEVIS, Minn. (KFGO) – A Nevis man died of what the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office says was a cervical spine fracture in an apparent diving incident.

Deputies and other first responders were called to Lake Belle Taine in Nevis. The victim and others were at a swimming beach shortly before 2:30 Saturday morning. CPR was underway when they arrived, but the man couldn’t be revived.

He was 21-year-old Aiden Thompson.

The investigation showed that Thompson and others had gone swimming. He was found by another swimmer who jumped off a dock and found Thompson, face down in the water.
