8-Year-Old Injured After Crashing UTV in Otter Tail County

Authorities say the incident took place northeast of Fergus Falls.

OTTER TAIL COUNTY, MN (KVRR) – An 8-year-old has been life-flighted to a Fargo hospital after sustaining injuries in a UTV crash.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, along with other agencies, responded to the report of a UTV rollover crash at 24041 County Highway 1 at about 2:45 P.M. on August 1.

Witness accounts say the driver, 8, and a juvenile sibling (passenger), were driving in a field with rough terrain. The driver attempted to turn, causing the UTV to roll. The driver was pinned under the UTV but was rescued by family members prior to first responder arrival.

The driver, after being attended to by first responders, was then life-flighted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. The passenger was not injured. Condition of the driver is unknown at this time.

The accident is under investigation by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
