Man arrested for armed robbery at apartment complex

Moorhead, Minn. (KVRR) — A man has been arrested for an armed robbery that occured in the early morning hours Wednesday.

Just before 2 A.M. Moorhead Police were called to an apartment complex in the 3300 block of 3rd Ave. North for a reported armed robbery.

Officers made contact with the victim, who was uninjured. Officers learned the victim and suspect were known to each other, and the suspect had fled out of a second story window. A Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy K9 conducted a search for the suspect, but was unsuccesful. They were able to locate a knife that had allegedly been used in the robbery.

Just after 5:30 A.M. officers responded to another call at the McDonald’s located at 3009 Highway 10 for a report of a suspicious person. The man, 49-year-old Deshun Jones of Fargo was located and later identified as the suspect from the robbery.

Jones was taken to the Clay County Jail, and charged with Aggravated Armed Robbery, Assault with a dangerous weapon, assault on a peace officer, and obstructing the legal process.
