Former Director of North Dakota Fish & Game Arrested for Sexual Misconduct
The charge for 71-year-old Terry Steinwand is gross sexual imposition with a victim under 15.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) – The former director of North Dakota Game and Fish has been arrested for sexual misconduct.
71-year-old Terry Steinwand was arrested on a charge of gross sexual imposition with a victim under the age of 15. The charge is a felony. A criminal complaint has yet to be filed that would detail the charge.
Steinwand was arrested on the afternoon of September 5 by Mandan Police and taken to the Burleigh Morton Detention Center.
Steinwand retired in July of 2021 after spending about 40 years with the agency. He was first appointed Game and Fish Director by then-Governor John Hoeven in 2006. He began his career with Game and Fish in 1982 as a fisheries biologist.
