Pickled Fest Quadruples Population of Wolverton
Residents of the small city in Wilkin County says having such a lively social event is invigorating.

WOLVERTON, MN (KVRR) – Off the beaten path in Minnesota, a celebration of all things pickled caused hundreds to flock to Wolverton.
The second annual Pickled Fest took place by the Red Silo in Wolverton.
The event was the brainchild of the owners of the Red Silo, who wanted to increase foot traffic to their city of about 130.
They say it worked last year, as Wolverton’s population quadrupled during the event.
Those involved say it really changes the spirit of the city.
“It was a hit last year,” said Raven Michaels, a Wolverton resident who was also one of the judges of the pickle contest.
“It’s just nice to have something that makes you feel like you’re not living in a town of 140,” she added, laughing.
Highlights of the fest included a homemade pickle competition, food from Duck Duck Goose Food Co., and a live demonstration from the Fargo-Moorhead fencing club.
