Update: One dead in fiery crash involving tanker, road grader

WOLVERTON, Minn. (KVRR) – At least one person is dead after a crash involving a tanker truck and a road grader in Wilkin County Thursday afternoon.

Numerous agencies responded around 4:30 p.m. to the crash and fire at the intersection of two county roads about eight miles northeast of Wolverton. The State Patrol says the tanker and road grader were both traveling south on County Road 3 when they crashed near County Road 190.

Both vehicles ended up in the ditch with the road grader coming to a rest on its roof and the tanker upright.

Information on the people involved in the crash is expected to be released Friday.

Sanford AirMed, the State Patrol, Wilkin and Clay County Sheriff’s Offices, Rothsay Fire, Barnesville Fire and Ambulance, and State Fire Marshal responded.
