Man wanted on felony warrant arrested in Grand Forks pursuit

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A man is arrested on a number of charges after leading Grand Forks deputies on a pursuit.

After 8 p.m. Monday, a deputy tried to pull over 34-year-old Derek Myrvik for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a felony warrant out of Minnesota.

He fled northbound on North 55th Street and hit speeds up to 55 mph in town.

The pursuit continued for over five miles.

Deputies used spike strips and a PIT maneuver to eventually stop the vehicle on 70th Avenue North.

Myrvik was taken to the Grand Forks County Jail.

In addition to the felony warrant, Myrvik was arrested on probable cause for eight other offenses.
