Update: Fire damages twin home in south Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Firefighters responded to a house fire in south Moorhead Monday morning.

Crews were called to the fire in the 4500 block of 19th St. S. at 11 a.m. after neighbors reported seeing flames on the side of the structure.

Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof of the home. Firefighters used a ladder truck to spray water onto the roof from above.

The fire caused massive damage to the roof of the structure as well as the interior. The Moorhead Fire Department says both residences are uninhabitable.

Moorhead Fire says that high winds were a factor in the size of the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Moorhead Fire wasn’t certain if anyone was in the building when the fire started. No injuries have been reported at this time. The fire is currently under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Division.

Crews from Moorhead, Fargo, Dilworth and Sabin-Elmwood responded.
