Senior Annaka Johnson: “We just have to go into it, trusting each other and just knowing that, like, we can do it as long as, like, we stick to the basics and just do what we do. We watch film. But also, like, I think I watched more film on us, and it was just like, watching this stuff that, like, we do good, and it’s like, Okay, we just have to go out and, like, do that, and we’ll be just fine.”

Junior Katie Vetter: “We know, like we’ve prepared for this all season, and so just going into it one point at a time, and then that’s how we’re just gonna get it done each time.”

Head Coach Kathleen Rustad: “they do what they do, but they grow each game, like they’re just, they get beat in a play, they get beaten another play. And, you know, like we had said, they’re not perfect team, but they’re just learning. They just constantly want to learn. So maybe they haven’t lost a whole lot of sets, but every ball matters, and they’re like, What can I learn from that ball that we just got stuffed in the face for? What can I learn from this ball that somebody hammered on us so they use everybody on the court and they know it.”

Hawley plays New Life Academy in the semifinals Friday, November 7 at 5 P.M.
