Valley City State University president takes same job in Aberdeen, S.D.

ABERDEEN, S.D. (KFGO/KVRR) – The South Dakota Board of Regents has picked the current president of Valley City State University as the next president of Northern State University in Aberdeen.

Dr. Alan LaFave will return to his alma mater in January after seven years in Valley City.

Before taking the presidency at Valley City State, LaFave spent nearly three decades at Northern State University. During his time there, he was an instructor and professor of music, department chair, associate dean and dean of the School of Fine Arts, and provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.
