FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A local group of hobbyists had great success with a food collection fundraiser last year – so they brought it back for another installment.

The Fargo-Moorhead Radio Control Car Club held their 2nd annual Race Against Hunger at their indoor track at the Bowler on December 20.

The event is organized in coordination with the Great Plains Food Bank.

FMRC leadership said that last year went so well, they increased the entry fee – and still saw a significant bump in attendance.

“It went excellent, so we decided to keep going, keep contributing back to the community,” said board member Marco Moreno. “We went ahead and upped what we were looking for as far as donations – so last year we did 5 cans an entry, this year we did 10 cans an entry,” he said.

FMRC says that the number of entrants was larger than last year as well.

They estimated about 45 people showed up to race.
