No charges will be filed against officer in deadly force incident in Grand Forks last month

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A review of an officer-involved shooting in Grand Forks on December 5 finds that Deputy Cameron Bridger’s use of deadly force was reasonable and legally justified.
Grand Forks County State’s Attorney Haley Wamstad says no criminal charges will be filed against Bridger.
He shot 47-year-old Alice Nesdahl of Larimore, North Dakota during a hostage situation in a Grand Forks apartment.
She told police she was holding a man hostage.
Nesdahl was uncooperative and refused to talk to officers.
When they entered the apartment, she raised a knife towards the hostage’s neck and Deputy Bridger fired four rounds, hitting Nesdahl multiple times.
She was pronounced dead at Altru Hospital.
