County attorney to announce findings of fatal law enforcement-related shooting in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Clay County Attorney Brian Melton will hold a news conference Thursday to announce the findings of an investigation of a fatal law enforcement-related shooting in Moorhead on August 11.
Two men were killed after police responded to an apartment in the 2400 block of Third Avenue North for a domestic assault. A woman told police that two men assaulted her, and that there were two kids inside the apartment.
A gun was fired when officers started to go inside. Red River Valley SWAT was called in and nearby apartments evacuated.
Forty-two-year-old Nathan Heiberg and 41-year-old Lucas Heiberg were killed. The woman and children were not hurt.
Three Fargo police officers who fired their weapons, Michael Anderson, Kyle Seehusen and Tyler Seehusen were placed on administrative leave.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigated the incident and said charges against the officers would not be recommended.
