Polk County, MN sheriff announces that he will retire at end of his second term

CROOKSTON, Minn. (KVRR) — Polk County Sheriff Jim Tadman has announced that he will not seek another term in office.

In a media release, Tadman says he will retire at the end of his current term in January 2027 with over 38 years of service with Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

He was first elected sheriff in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.

Tadman began his career with the office as an intern before he took a role working undercover for the Polk/Norman County DRUG Task Force.

He also served as a SWAT team member, sniper, investigations sergeant and chief deputy.
