FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Election season may seem far away at present, but one North Dakota-based organization is already starting to host informational meetings to let voters know about some measures that will be on their ballots in June and November.

The North Dakota Watchdog Network kicked off a series of town hall gatherings in Bismarck in January.

They’ve now moved to Fargo, with Thursday night’s meeting taking place at the downtown branch of the Fargo Public Library.

Organizers say that boosting civic engagement is key to creating a more responsive government.

“We need people to be engaged all year – it’s going to be a long election year, and folks need to stay tuned and not get tired of hearing about these things,” said Dustin Gawrylow of the Watchdog Network.

The Watchdog Network has one more event in Fargo – tomorrow at noon at the Sons of Norway.

That meeting will be held in conjunction with the League of Women Voters.
