FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A special edition of the Red River Market came to West Acres Mall on Saturday, with local nonprofits informing the public about their respective missions.

That’s because it was the Giving Hearts Day Farmers Market, running from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on January 7.

In addition to the normal market stalls, 20 different organizations also set up booths with interactive exhibits to demonstrate what they’re all about.

The Giving Hearts Day team says this is a great way for people looking for causes to support this Thursday to learn more about the community.

“A lot of people already know who they’re going to give to and have their charities picked out,” explained Amanda Sayre, “but for those people who maybe don’t know about our great nonprofits that are here in our backyard, there’s a couple here, and you can learn more about their mission and what it is that they’re doing to help the community.”

The market was one of many events geared towards priming the public for Giving Hearts Day, which takes place February 12.
