YWCA of Cass Clay works to empower women on Giving Hearts Day
Fargo, N.D. (KVRR) – With Giving Hearts Day on the horizon, the YWCA is looking to get people involved with their mission of protecting victims of domestic violence.
The YWCA has helped over 1,600 women and children in the past year, offering safe shelter, educational and employment aid, and much more.
They say that while the shelter is one critical component, the rest of their services are critical to giving the women they serve independence and confidence.
“As important as that safety component we provide is, that’s absolutely critical, but just as important is having someone believe in them. Everyone we serve, we hear it time and again. You’re the first person that’s believed in me, you’re the first person that’s told me I can do this.”
It takes roughly $75 per bed to every night at the shelter. If you’d like to help out the YWCA this Giving Hearts Day, you can find a link here.
