Police seek public’s help in locating remains of Isadora Wengel, following arrest of boyfriend for her murder

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo Police say they do not believe Isadora Wengel is alive and they are now asking people to look for a 27 gallon tote that is black with a red cover.
Police Chief Dave Zibolski says the man arrested for the murder of Wengel, 21-year-old Joshua Hite of Fargo, purchased two of the totes and only one has been accounted for.
Zibolski says based on the investigation so far, they believe Wengel was heinously murdered and they have probable cause that Hite, her boyfriend, tampered with evidence related to the disposal of her body.
People in Fargo, Moorhead, Fergus Falls, Battle Lake and Otter Tail County are being asked to look for the tote during this mid-winter thaw.
They are asking people in rural areas to search for any signs of the tote or Wengel.
Hite was arrested outside of his apartment Tuesday without incident.
Wengel was last seen by her father on New Year’s Eve near the 900 block of 3 1/2 Avenue East in West Fargo.
She wasn’t reported missing until January 7.
A multi-agency investigation has included searches of a south Fargo apartment two days later along ongoing searches of the city landfill.
They also asked people in southwest Otter Tail County to check their security cameras for video showing a Subaru Impreza with North Dakota license plates.
Fargo Police Department is continuing to ask for the public’s assistance if they have any information regarding Wengel’s disappearance.
