Hubbard County Sheriff to seek a new elected position in 2026 after four terms in office

PARK RAPIDS, Minn. (KVRR) — Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes announces that he will not seek a fifth term.
In a statement, Aukes says that after serving the citizens of Hubbard County for 36 years, it’s time to move on to a different chapter.
He hopes that new chapter will be as a Hubbard County Commissioner.
Aukes intends to seek the District 3 seat on the commission this year.
Aukes started out as a 20-year-old deputy sheriff in 1990 and went on to first be elected as sheriff in 2010.
He won the race a total of four times.
