Why Detroit Lake’s “The Nines” is More Than a Clothing Store

After a year in the making, The Nines is more than just a clothing store and you can see why.
Co–owner Steve Zima spent the past year and a half transforming Detroit Lake’s old historic theatre into a shopping oasis.
Zima dismantled more than 50 wooden spools using it for the floors.
Singer sewing machines were also used in place of the sinks.
The store’s current location is right across the street.
“I think there will be a lot of gasps. There are a lot of unique features you don’t find in a lot of retail stores. A lot of extra time went into things versus a box store,” says Zima.
Zima’s favorite part is the man cave where men can enjoy a cold drink while their lady shops.
He will be working throughout the week on some final touches just in time for the store’s grand opening this Friday.
