Several reports of open water around ice houses in Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — A warning on open water forming around ice houses on lakes throughout Douglas County.

The sheriff’s office says they have received multiple reports.

Warmer weather is causing large holes to develop beneath and around ice shelters.

Several ice houses have broke through the ice.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office strongly recommends that ice house owners immediately check the conditions around their shelters.
