Pastry chef Roland Mesnier did just that.
The former White House chef was at the Holiday Inn in Fargo sharing some of his most memorable moments.
Mesnier served five presidents in 27 years including Ronald Reagan, George Bush, and Bill Clinton.
The French American pastry chef has prepared hundreds of state dinners over the years, and says that he has never served the same dessert twice.
“So I made tons of research to always put a different dessert on the table. So with me the anticipation was what has he done for us tonight? Instead of saying oh we’re getting the old chocolate cake.,” says Mesnier.
Mesnier holds the title of the longest serving chef at the White House.
