MOORHEAD — A Moorhead groomer is working to help veterinary clinics receive financial assistance for urgent and emergency veterinary care.

Wags n Whiskers Veterinary Relief Fund was established by the owner of the Wags n Whiskers Pet Grooming.

The goal is to ensure that financial hardship never stands in the way of lifesaving or emergency treatment for pets in both Minnesota and North Dakota.

Currently the team is working to partner with local veterinary providers.

“For our first kickoff event, we’re going to have a silent auction at the Moorhead American Legion on Sunday, May 3, from 1 to 3. And so just getting the word out to get the community to show up, or if they have something they’d like to donate for the auction, that anything like that would be totally appreciated,” said owner Deanne Kading.

The relief fund is still in the funding stage, but she hopes it will be available for families soon.
