FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The three finalists for the next president of NDSU are visiting campus this week.

First up is Dr. Marshall Stewart.

He is currently executive vice president for external engagement at Kansas State University.

The session lasted one hour and included a 20-minute presentation and time for questions from the audience, followed by a 30-minute meet and greet.

Stewart gave an overview of his background and his priorities if chosen to become the next president of NDSU.

“We’ve also got massive things happening in athletics and other things we’ve got to keep our eyes on but the bottom line every day we got to get equal to or more students on this campus we have to, that’s got to be the ultimate,” said Stewart.

Dr. Bernie Savarese will be on campus tomorrow followed by the final finalist, Dr. Alan Smith on Wednesday.

State Board of Higher Education will conduct final interviews next Monday and announce the next president on the same day.

Rick Berg has been serving as interim president after the departure of David Cook who became president of Iowa State University.
