Local group to join calls for release of MN woman in ICE custody in Texas in need of urgent medical care

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Local community and faith leaders are joining the call for the release of a Burnsville, Minnesota woman in ICE custody in Texas.
Last week, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig called on the Trump administration to release Andrea Pedro-Francisco.
She is suffering from a tennis ball-sized ovarian cyst at risk of rupture and needs urgent medical treatment.
Craig calls it a life-or-death situation.
Pedro-Francisco was detained by ICE on her way to work cleaning houses on February 5.
Clergy were able to meet with her on April 17 while participating in a Border Immersion visit to El Paso, Texas.
They will hold a press conference on Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the Fargo Public Library conference room.
Expected to speak are Nancy Farnham or Enderlin, North Dakota, a Border Immersion participant.
Carrie Lauber of Moorhead, a ruling elder with Presbyterian Church USA and Border Immersion participant.
Moorhead City Councilmember Deb White, a Border Immersion participant.
And a local health care provider to share background on ovarian cysts and associated risks.
