Time Worth Spending: Concordia’s Empower Entrepreneurship Retreat
MOORHEAD — You’re probably comfortable with teaching your kid to read and write.
But when it comes to handling money, a lot of kids aren’t getting much education.
Concordia College is hosting a retreat for teenage girls this summer designed to get them started.
It’s an overnight camp that gives girls a start on learning to save money, make money, and spend wisely.
Its focus isn’t just on accumulating wealth, but rather on how you can share it to make your community a better place.
And it gives girls a chance to build bonds they can carry forward with them.
Concordia professor Heather McDougal and wealth adviser Tammy Laurent joined the Morning Show to talk about why sometimes girls can have a tougher time getting comfortable with finances, and their top tips for parents on how to get a kid set up for a bright financial future.
