Town Hall to be Held, Presentation Given Regarding Legacy Elementary Intersection
The City of West Fargo says that staff at the school have been saying, for years, that the intersection of 52nd Avenue West and 9th Street West is unsafe for pedestrians.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Engineers and City of West Fargo officials are seeking public input on a proposal to transform a problematic intersection.
According to the city, staff at Legacy Elementary School have said that the intersection of 52nd Avenue West and 9th Street West is unsafe for children and parents attempting to cross streets.
A traffic study concluded that the four-way stop should be replaced with a roundabout.
Moore Engineering in West Fargo have drawn up formal plans for the project and will be presenting them to the public at Legacy Elementary at 6:30 this evening.
They say community feedback will factor into the specifics of the roundabout’s construction.
“This is a conceptual design, so there are still tweaks to be made. The intent is to install a roundabout, but the exact details of it are still to be developed,” explained Dylan Dunn, project engineer.
“We’re coordinating with the North Dakota DOT for exact configuration – any additional lanes, if there’s a slip lane or a right-turn lane – things like that, they’re still kind of flexible.”
Written comments will be accepted by Moore until May 15.
The firm will then present their Engineer’s Report to the West Fargo City Commission in June.
