FARGO — An area youth who had their fishing pole stolen got a surprise from the Fargo Police Department.

Theodore Jensen’s fishing pole was recently stolen while he was fishing by the river.

His family filed a police report, and investigators decided to pool together their own money to give Jensen a brand new fishing pole to replace the one that was stolen.

He was also given some new fishing gear including gift cards courtesy of NDSU and Scheels.

He will also get a chance to go on a fishing trip with professional fisherman Spencer Deutz.

Jensen’s grandfather says they are grateful for the support from the department and the community.
