Police are investigating another robbery in Fargo.
The Holiday Gas Station at Hornbachers on 32nd Avenue South was robbed Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m.
Café Aladdin sits just across the street from the latest target in a string of robberies.
“Being living in Fargo almost more than 28 years, we’ve never heard about these crimes before,” says Café Aladdin Owner Younis Younis.
But Younis wasn’t that surprised because his restaurant has been hit before.
“We’ve been robbed before twice,” he says.
Here behind Café Aladdin is where the crimes happened. It was robbed twice and vandalized twice. One incident was caught on camera but the case is still unsolved.
“Our bank cameras caught them on tapes and we shared this with the police department, Fargo Police Department, and until today, almost two years now, and no solution,” says Younis.
Much like the most recent crimes. An attempted robbery at Vista Inn and Suites last Wednesday, Casey’s General Store hit Sunday night, and just last night, this Holiday Gas Station. Three robberies and nobody behind bars.
“We have investigators in the area doing some canvasing of the area as we speak along with we’re looking for additional surveillance camera equipment that may have been in the area at the time,” says Lt. Joel Vettel of Fargo Police.
Police say they have strong reason to believe these incidents near the South University Drive corridor are connected.
“Certainly there’s enough there to say that there’s a strong possibility that they are connected. We never jump to that conclusion,” says Vettel.
In the meantime, area business owners like Younis just hope they aren’t the next target.
“Hopefully the Fargo Police will find a solution,” Younis says.
The suspect in Wednesday night’s robbery is described as a 6-foot-3 black man wearing dark clothing.
The suspects in the other two robberies have a similar description.
