Cabaret Performance by Concordia Voice Faculty

Friday, September 4
7:30 PM
Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music, Concordia College, Moorhead

The music department at Concordia College opens the academic year with a unique recital, “The Coming of Wisdom” cabaret at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, in Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.

The program features music from the American music theater on the theme of women’s friendship over years in time, including music on themes of age and loss. Theater songs out of their original context allows them to be performed with a fresh perspective incorporating each artist’s individual style and is one of the highlights of cabaret performing.

Voice faculty members Anne Jennifer Nash, soprano; Holly Janz, mezzo soprano; and Lucy Thrasher, soprano; will be joined by Sonja Harasim, violin; and Greg Hamilton, Cello. All will be accompanied by Jerry DePuit (musical direction, arrangements) on piano in a performance arranged by him and under the direction of original artistic director, Joshua Major.

The performance is free and open to the public.
