Country music fans will be swarming to the Detroit Lakes area this week for WE Fest.
Crews have been working day and night to make sure people have a good time.
Chairs are being set and everything is getting organized for one of the biggest festivals in the country.
Thousands of crew members are working to make sure WE Fest is the best it can be.
“We’ve been doing stage roof and production for over a week,” said Marketing Director John Gourley.
Kiersten Gibson has gone to WE Fest several times over the last ten years and usually goes with her mom.
“She lives in San Antonio and I live in Fargo, so we live at opposite ends. She drove all the way up here from San Antonio to come to WE Fest,” said Gibson of Fargo.
She says it’s a tradition to spend time with each other at WE Fest and her mom couldn’t agree more.
“It’s the only reason I do it, so we have time together,” said Karnie Wessling of Boerne, Texas.
“While for many people going to WE Fest is an annual tradition and they’ve gone for their second time, third time or even tenth time, for some it’s their first time and there’s a few things you need to know.”
“Make sure that you bring plenty of sunscreen and all the obvious things; good shoes to walk,” said Gourley.
For Teresa Mosher, the festival isn’t something new. She’s been going for the last 31 years.
“I usually go with the same group of people, and it’s just nostalgic. You just come back and hang out with the same people and of course the country music,” said Mosher of Prior Lake.
Some of this year’s lineup includes Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert and Rascal Flatts, but for many, the festival isn’t just about the music.
