A 75 year-old man is dead after a semi hit his bicycle on Highway 46 just east of Alfred in Stutsman County.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the 44-year-old Daniel Blackman of Gackle, North Dakota was driving a 2007 Freightliner.
He did not see the bicyclist, 75-year-old Frederick Lonas from Oregon. Blackman hit him from behind around 6:35 p.m. Friday.
Lonas was thrown from his bike and landed in the north ditch of the highway.
