Fargo City Commissioner Piepkorn Joins Diversion Committee

 Fargo City Commissioner Dave Piepkorn says he’s excited to join the Diversion Authority Land Management Committee.
 
Commissioner Piepkorn says he’s ready to review how much money the city is spending for diversion buyouts.

He says some Oxbow home buyout prices are very high compared to what’s being spent in Fargo.

He also says that issue might set a negative precedent.
 
“I’m looking forward to it because the diversion obviously, it’s a huge undertaking, millions of dollars and I think we need to really be careful how we spend each dollar, because it’s going to be a huge project and it’s going to go on for many, many years,” said Piepkorn.
 
Along with Piepkorn’s appointment, Commissioner Mike Williams was selected to join the Diversion Finance Committee.
