Authorities Investigating Death of Pequot Lakes Hunter

Authorities are investigating the death of a hunter near Middle River, Minnesota.

The body of 65-year-old Richard Sheik of Pequot Lakes was found about 100 yards from where a boat capsized on Thief Lake refuge.

Someone alerted authorities to the area Tuesday morning after noticing a pickup hadn’t been moved since Monday morning.

They found a small boat registered to Sheik and began a search of the water.

His body was found Tuesday afternoon and taken to Grand Forks for an autopsy.

No foul play is suspected.
