No Charges in Maple Valley Election Tampering Investigation

No one will be prosecuted for alleged election tampering in the Maple Valley School District bond vote in January.

Barnes County State’s Attorney Carl Martineck says the B-C-I agent who interviewed poll workers about people making improper statements to sway the vote found that much of it was hearsay.

No direct evidence was uncovered that election tampering took place at one of the polling sites.

A $10-million bond issue failed by just 10 votes.
